Heather Shubirg, Chris Wimsatt and Deana Williams participated in DeLand’s Leadership West Volusia Class. Leadership West Volusia draws together business and community leaders from diverse backgrounds and experiences to learn about challenging community issues while enhancing their leadership skills. Heather Shubirg began with a presentation on the basics of economic development. Followed by a panel discussion moderated by Chris Wimsatt along with fellow economic development partners: Steve Burley, Economic Development Manager with the City of DeLand, Elizabeth Godwin, Economic Development Manager with Duke Energy, and Jerry Mayes, Economic Development & Ecological Tourism Sustainbility Manager with the City of Deltona. At the conclusion, Heather Shubirg shared a business attraction case study.
